AWS Machine Learning Engineer Scholarship 2020

Enroll in the AWS Machine Learning Foundations course.

Learn best practices of object-oriented programming, Amazon AI Services, and AWS AI Devices such as DeepLens, DeepRacer, and DeepComposer.

Commit to dedicating 5-10 hours a week on the course and work towards earning one of the follow-up Nanodegree program scholarships.

Machine learning is expected to transform virtually every industry, but there is a shortage of trained and experienced ML developers. Of 23 million developers worldwide, only 1.3% have AI/ML expertise, and by 202‍2 it is predicted there will be 58 million AI/ML jobs.

The AWS Machine Learning Scholarship program was designed to help students break into machine learning by building key ML skills and deploying them in the AWS production environment.

In the AWS Machine Learning Foundations Course, the first of two scholarships being offered, you'll build basic software engineering skills and intermediate knowledge of ML skills, such as supervised and unsupervised learning. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with AWS educational AI devices, such as AWS DeepComposer.

If you are ready to hone your ML skills, we encourage you to pre-register for the AWS Machine Learning Scholarship to‍day! You will be notified as soon as the classroom opens on M‍ay 1‍9, 202‍0.

These scholarships are tenable at universities in the Caribbean, USA, UK and Canada and can be for either online or face-to-face programmes.

CCRIF will provide at least eight scholarships for postgraduate students. These are broken down as follows:

One extra-regional scholarship of up to US$40,000 for students accepted into a university in the United Kingdom, United States or Canada.

Six Caribbean scholarships of US$11,000 each for students accepted into the University of the West Indies; University of Technology, Jamaica; Northern Caribbean University in Jamaica; University of Guyana; or University of Suriname.

Special scholarship/s totalling US$11,000 for students enrolled in a new course developed by CCRIF and to be offered through UWI titled Fundamentals of Disaster Risk Financing (with emphasis on CCRIF Parametric Insurance Policies) for Advancing the Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS), adapted from CCRIF’s training programme, “Understanding Disaster Risk Financing, CCRIF Parametric Policies and the Relationship with Fiscal and Economic Policy”, and which will be offered for the first time through UWI Open Campus starting in academic year 2020/21

The deadline for applications for the 2020 CCRIF Scholarship Programme is June 15, 2020.

Please visit the CCRIF website at: http://www.ccrif.org/content/scholarship to apply. OR

Additionally, at the undergraduate level CCRIF will continue to provide through the University of the West Indies (UWI) four undergraduate scholarships per year valued at US$8,000 each (US$4,000 per year for the second and final year) for students registered at one of the UWI campuses and pursuing select degrees related to DRM, civil engineering, geography, environmental management, etc. For information on the CCRIF-UWI undergraduate scholarships, visit: http://www.ccrif.org/content/programmes/ccrif-uwi-scholarship. OR

Applications for these scholarships are administered directly by the UWI.

All citizens of CARICOM or CCRIF Caribbean member countries are eligible for these scholarships.

Since the launch of its scholarship programme CCRIF has awarded 77 scholarships to Caribbean nationals totalling US$1.13 million to complete undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at the University of the West Indies and universities in the USA and the UK.

These scholarships are provided as part of CCRIF’s Technical Assistance (TA) Programme which was launched in 2010. The TA programme provides scholarships and internships as well as small grants to NGOs and CBOs and supports programmes implemented in partnership with regional organizations to enhance DRM and climate change adaptation.

CCRIF is committed to doing its part in building a cadre of persons who can effectively provide support for comprehensive disaster risk management and climate change adaptation in the region.

While we all face uncertainties in the face of the current COVID-19 crisis, CCRIF anticipates that universities will be able to offer their programmes in August/September 2020 and the CCRIF team will work with scholarship candidates and the universities to enable these young Caribbean nationals to achieve their academic and professional goals.

ALL THAT GLITTER ISN'T GOLD

Lady B grew up to be very beautiful and intelligent, men wanted her, the rich, the poor, the handsome, name them. This made LadyB became quite confused about who she really wanted. Few years later, she fell in love with Frank. Frank was very intelligent and hardworking, he was an artist and designer with lots of vision, plans, and ideas, he was kind, caring and worked very hard to give LadyB all she wanted but Frank wasn't rich.

Efe Samnuel
Weeks passed, months passed, years passed, LadyB got tired of Frank because she didn't see him becoming rich, she was tired of hearing "All will be fine dear", "God will change our story, baby". LadyB broke up with Frank, even though she still loved him, but he couldn't take care of her as she wanted. Frank was broken but he moved on and became more determined to work very hard. Lady B met Dubem a very rich guy who spent lavishly on her, he paid all her bills, she wasn't so much in love with Dubem, but he could provide all her needs, she was happy about that, few months after they met, they got married. Dubem business crushed and things became so difficult for him, they could hardly feed three square meal, Dubem lost his job and became a driver to the CEO of a well-known company.
One Afternoon, LadyB went to her husband(Dubem's) workplace to drop his meal before going to the market. On getting there, she saw Dubem opening the door for his boss who happened to be Frank. Frank! the same guy whom she dumped for Dubem. LadyB cried her eyes out in regret! MORAL LESSON
  • As a lady, you can become a breadwinner, you success isn't tied to chasing successful men. Work hard, learn a skill, get a job, don't just sit and fold your hands, do something, no matter how little, it will yield something in years to come, other than looking for who to pay your bills.
  • You don't have to leave someone you truly love because of his inability to pay your bills, He's hardworking abi? And does his best to give you little from his hard earn abi? Support him, Stand by him! Don't just leave.
  • All that glitter isn't gold, so many ladies have cut their life short because of jumping from one man to another because of money when you can actually become successful. Jumping from one man to the other for money reduces your value, you think they don't know? They know o!
Now, asides collecting money from men and giving good sex in return, what else can you offer? There's more to life than that! Think about it.
  • Be a woman of Valour
  • A focused woman
  • A purpose-filled woman
Men love successful women too. No one wants a liability who cannot support the family.
PS: This is a true-life story!
