ESCHEW THE CROWD’S COWARDICE MENTALITY
The sum global population of human living in the world today has been appraised to an estimate of 7.8 billion. These are people of different gender, age, tribes, culture, complexion, ideology, ethics and beliefs, with different individual pursuit in life. A population of diverse personalities – the good and bad; a world filled with hate and love, lies and truth.
As individuals, we are all in a journey of self-discovery to unveil and live out the invaluable potential(s) within us, but it’s unfortunate not every individual is knowledgeable of what ought to be done or where they belong. Some are progressively moving and are purpose-oriented, while others are lentic in the quest of self-discovery to be purpose-oriented as many are also left in limbo, not figuring out what they ought to do. This complexity makes up the multitude in the world today and the crowd is characterized by its disorder and the lack of right structured systems for the enlightenment of individuals towards the achievement of things. They say whatever it is, let’s just go with it, and they go on and on in a circle like in a roller coaster ride, eventually achieving nothing or less. People adhere to go along with unfiltered suggestions and this has made it intractable for individuals to oppose the compelling force from the crowd, which has become the compass that gives the direction to one’s life.
Avert the time in following people you do not have an idea where they are headed for and sit back to discover who you are and what you ought to do and fulfil.
From the movie “The ghost and the tout”, there is a scenario where the popular comedian Josh-2-funny and a police officer chasing after some little kids who took Josh’s towel while he was in the bathroom. In the scene, as the police officer chased after the kids, some touts joined them in running and at a point the touts stopped and asked themselves why they were running. Funny how they didn’t even know the cause but they joined the race. That’s how many of us are, we live other people’s life, because we don’t really have direction(s) for ours, so we jump on every direction, unknown that life in itself is full of mysteries you must sit back to discover in order to find out who you are and what you are on earth to fulfil.
Self-discovery is a first step to your success. For if you do not know who you are, what you want and what you ought to fulfil, you will follow anybody and the destination is anywhere.
A person who is purpose-oriented, has a vision and also goal(s) to reach and he or she is not tossed by anything, just because it is trendy. Be confident about who you are, because whatever is not compatible with your life, is not worth chasing after. A purposeful person doesn’t feel bad as though he or she is missing out on anything when he or she doesn’t partake in what others do.
There are many routes to success, but you will find the best route when you have discovered who you are and what problem you are on earth to solve.
Step out with courage into the reality of why you were created, pursue your dream(s) and aim at achieving your dream(s). Do not be a coward in the crowd, but be courageous about who God has made you to be.
Fear is a prison for cowards, you don’t want to be bound in the shackles of timidity, so devote time in discovering who you are, and follow the path to becoming the prime version of yourself. Decide to live your life prudently to its fullest.
